The certification course "Managing Projects with Microsoft Teams" I enrolled for was intended to attend to my areas of weakness as revealed by my self-assessment using the e-portfolio in which I listed my project management skills. My knowledge of project management technology was confined to the basics, and I grasped that for better utilization of technology, I should develop my skills in using it in managing project activities and the teamwork.
Along the way, I touched upon a number of invaluable skills and successful management strategies for leading projects applied in MS Teams. A core note of the takeaway was the imperative need of the organized team work that requires setting the structures which include channels, team files, task boards from Planner, and using the list and pages for the team organization. I identified the coordinated implement of OneNote in the project notes and I realised the online meetings do better if I know how to run them, to planning, conduct and utilise the meeting templates assignments properly.
The final outcome known to me after the series of classes was the noticeable increase in skills alleging projects implementation with the help of Microsoft Teams. Skills such as project team collaboration, folder management, task tracking, notes writing, zoom meeting initiation, and information collection grew practically with me. The fact, that I was amazed at the full range of features in Microsoft Team, as one can co-author files, manage file versions and retain meeting recaps automatically, is another.
While I had already run Microsoft teams before, the experience served to bring these skills forward more than I expected, though I underestimated its enhancement of my skills and efficiency. Extra, I came across at new functions and features which were previously unexpected and added successful strategy tools to my management toolkit. At the end of the day, this certification course was vital in the improvement of my e-portfolio and I now have the advantage of being able to successfully apply my new skills for future projects even in a professional sense.
