Research Proposal
In this research proposal, I will focus on a complete evaluation of the activities of private military firms (PMFs) that play an active role in the U.S. military in their war on terror. My research will take the direction of the study of the historical development of PMFs and will describe their role in world-scale conflicts nowadays. While examining this matter, I am critical because multilateral forces could jeopardize domestic and global security in the long term.
Though I am here for the discovery, there is still a possibility of being brought to light something new from my research.
The central question guiding my investigation is: What characteristic functions do private military companies occupy in the American military's battle with terrorism?
Literature review
I will access different sources from the Wilson Library at the University of La Verne for my literature review. These sources will help me understand the nuances and complexity of PMFs. By studying the effects, I will also consider how strategic values and ethics correlate to these uses. This will also involve an analysis of research journals, books, and government reports that will provide a fair and balanced coverage of PMF's operating modus operandi and influence on the war.
Search Plan and Sources
I will actively seek PMFs from the Wilson Library of the University of La Verne to expand and diversify the discussions. I intend to take knowledgeable people and patients with PMF experience. In addition, I will examine scholastic works by prominent political science publishers for added insights. I have determined some of the books that can be found in the library's catalogue through citations, and that will help me gain deeper access to more resources.

Timeline
My well-planned research timeline, although short, is well manageable. During the first two weeks, I will work to select and scrutinize sufficient reading materials. The foundation for my thesis will be an important matter I have to go through in this section. The third week is to summarize the information and write a proposition draft. The coming week will be dedicated to refinements and improvements based on suggestions from your classmates and the instructor. I plan to refine and complete my proposal by the last day of this month so it is ready for submission.
Key Challenges
One of the difficulties I am prepared for is the challenge of visiting different diverse and unbiased sites. To follow this issue, I will conduct a thorough library catalogue and database exploration so that I can reference information from various sources. Time management is a significant factor, especially considering that I will allocate the necessary time for thorough research and to perform on the deadline. Making sure that my argument is clear and to the point is the other hurdle because of the simplicity of the instruction and the broad spectrum of other issues when dealing with poverty.
