Rules and self-control can be reflective and life-changing as they will help us to have better and consistent actions. As I was a kid my parents inculcated in me some basic rules which I still live by the time now: always do my homework prior to watching TV or playing video games, my room must be neat and tidy, and also I must be respectful towards other people. Basically, they were the easy stuff, but on the other hand, they contributed to building life skills like self-discipline, organization, and good relationships with those around me. The truth is that rules in general could occasionally tend to be restrictive; however, I found out that having some limitations on my daily activities has made my life much easier because they have drastically reduced my number of choices. So far as the rules are calm and correspond with my beliefs, they would give thorough guidance on how to be in different situations without assiduously analyzing every decision. Ultimately, proving to myself that I could behave under rules had given me consistency, made me do what I was supposed to do, and

reinforced my need to act with integrity – that has been the reason why I am thankful now that my parents emphasized the importance of rules starting from an early age.
