The proposed study aims to investigate how having a representation of genders, at levels of an organization, such as the board, top management team (TMT) and general management impacts various important outcomes for the organization. It specifically looks into the effects of gender diversity on performance employee productivity and turnover rates within the company. Furthermore the research will explore how ESG reporting and greenwashing practices play a role in connecting gender diversity with outcomes. Additionally it aims to understand how the size of an organization influences the relationship between gender diversity and ESG reporting/greenwashing practices. Using legitimacy theory as a framework this study will examine how organizations shape their image through gender diversity efforts and ESG reporting practices. Employing a mixed methods approach will offer a view of the connections, among gender diversity organizational performance and sustainability. The results of this study will enhance our understanding of how gender diversity impacts effectiveness and sustainability.
