The University of Sussex seems like the place for me to pursue my dreams thanks to its strong reputation for encouraging curiosity, learning and wisdom. It is known for sparking an interest in exploring the world and gaining knowledge and insight in areas of life with notable alumni like the renowned British actor, Jim Carter.
I've decided on The Year One Business program at Sussex because it offers a rounded curriculum that aligns perfectly with my objectives.
Alongside core business courses the program covers subjects such as marketing basics, economics, accounting principles organizational behavior and digital data analysis skills.
These diverse modules will provide me with a robust understanding of the business landscape, enabling me to develop a well-rounded skill set that will be instrumental in driving the growth and success of my family's car dealership business.
Furthermore the university has a lot of different student led organizations and societies which i'm excited to learn more about, meet new people of different schools of thought and grow as a person such as the business society and the photographic society. I intend to join various societies to interact with people from various schools of thoughts and foster connections that can last a lifetime.
I also look forward to exploring the campus and different architectural marvels such as the jubilee building that hosts many different lectures both general and specialist, including a 500 seat lecture theater, academic and support spaces as well recreational social and coffee facilities.
One feature about Sussex that really appeals to me a lot are also the university's different research and creative arts facilities such as the "develop our skills hub" where one can explore topics like, critical thinking, note-making, reading and research and more to help in ones studies and the connector program that involves students and faculty as collaborative partners to improve student life on campus through developing career support and designing new course modules and much more.
I am also really intrigued by "Belong at sussex" a student support program that helps students find their place at the university, hosting community building events such as mature students skills day, disabled students coffee meet and a belong at sussex community lunch.
Sussex university is located at a prime scenic spot in the suburbs of brighton, granting me an opportunity to visit the widely known pebble beach. The city of brighton is known as a major student city, famously nicknamed "the jewel of the south" amongst locals, having many different hotspots for students to meetup and enjoy as such as sussex county cricket club. The campus itself does not fall short either, having the arts plaza on site and the beautiful stanmer park nearby, secondly Brighton has various businesses that offer student discounts which can encourage smart financial management and to meet other students. The campus is also approximately an hour away from the heart of England, London. A city with many historic places and marvels of civilisational advancement, such as St. Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham palace and Westminster abbey to name a few.
In summary the University of Sussex provides a mix of quality diverse extracurricular activities and a lively campus community that resonates with my ambitions. I believe that studying at Sussex will give me an enriching journey and prepare me for success in my family's car dealership business by enhancing my skills and knowledge base and help me build lasting connections and memories.
